Focus on Petra
@ceramicasenio I @ad_magazine I Photography: @carinamaiwald
Innately elegant and endlessly versatile, Petra is one of our most coveted hues. Resting softly between white and cream, this pale stone colour is the perfect option for those who don't want to fuss over keeping whites white, while bringing a feeling of freshness and serenity to your bedroom all year round.
Petra is a two-tone weave that combines our signature neutrals of light, sandy Sable and antique white Ayrton, striking the perfect tonal balance between the two and creating a subtle melange that equates to a beautiful warm stone hue. This dreamy shade is incredibly versatile, offering the ideal alternative to more optic whites when layered with bold colours while pairing beautifully with neutrals and muted, earthy colours across our entire palette.North Adelaide Residence I Design: @designbywbl I Landscape: @stubbs.peterj I Photography: @carolinecameron I Flocca Linen Pillowcase in Petra I Kristine Pillowcase in Petra I Flocca Linen Flat Sheet in Ayrton
The gentle melange of Petra not only imbues the freshness of Ayrton and the warmth of Sable, but also a delightful textural quality. Spaces that are predominantly white can often feel flat, however the tonal depth of our signature melange can elevate a pared-back space with tactile appeal. Reminiscent of natural materials such as travertine and sandstone, the warm, creamy beige tones of Petra lend a soothing, grounded quality.

Layer Petra with Ayrton for an effortless, tonal look that feels fresh and balanced, achieving a luxurious backdrop for a calming sleep haven that can be personalised with pillows, throws and accent cushions. A similar feeling can be achieved when pairing Petra with Sable, which offers a more earthy, natural scheme. Warm Neutrals
Warm Neutrals
Introducing warm, earthy tones to your home creates a sense of calm and comfort, and this muted, natural palette works beautifully in any interior scheme. Create balance by taking a tonal approach, beginning with our signature neutrals of Petra, Ayrton and Sable as a light, fresh base for rich, decadent layers of Russo, Carmel and Brun. Complete the look with an accent of Maiz, our washed-out gold hue, as a finishing touch.

In the bedroom, our Flocca linen duvet, pure linen sheets and pillows in Sable provide a light, neutral foundation for Carmel-hued pillows and a complementary pairing of cushions in Russo and Maiz, while our generous Flocca Linen Blanket in Russo adds a final luxurious layer when draped over the end of the bed.

At Graceville House, a playfully adapted Federation bungalow by Wrightson Stewart, the use of warm, natural tones and cosy textures imbue a grounded elegance to the home’s pared-back spaces. A feeling of soft, handcrafted luxury carries through to the bedroom, where our Flocca sheets and blanket in sandy Sable bring understated warmth to a predominantly white palette, while our Basix Sable/Brun stripe pillows ease the transition between light and dark hues. Richer tones are particularly effective in the bathroom, a typically minimal space with smooth finishes and a simple colour scheme. Our Flocca pure linen towel range in Russo has been thoughtfully chosen by The Repose, a charming boutique accommodation in Dubbo, to introduce warmth and texture to its light-filled bathroom. Reminiscent of the setting sun, our latest pure linen look takes inspiration from the gentle glow of dusk. An elegant palette of sun-bleached Carmel and rich Russo imbues a subtle and inviting warmth to your bedding scheme in all seasons, while earthy pink Floss lends a delicate, cloudlike softness. The pared-back master bedroom features a fitted sheet and pillowcases in Floss, layered with our pure linen duvet cover in Carmel to add warmth to a cool grey palette.
Texture-rich linen bedding in twilight tones provides the perfect contrast to this moody, tonal space, with our generous Flocca Linen Blanket in Russo introducing visual warmth and tactile appeal alongside a charcoal bedhead and a smooth marble fireplace mantel. This adaptable colour combination can be styled to imbue texture and femininity, and at the same time, the understated tones and subtle, hand-tufted accents achieve simplicity and sophistication.

Photographer Mary Quincy perfectly captures the essence of our Tempest Sunset palette in her series depicting the Tuscan countryside. Warm light casts a soothing glow over the golden wheatfields, while shadows formed across the rolling hillside create a dramatic contrast of mid-grey to deep charcoal that offset the luminous pink sky. This layering of cool and warm tones creates depth and interest, working just as beautifully in the bedroom as in nature.

Making a House a Home
While we can appreciate a sleek and perfectly curated interior, it is often true that the most welcoming homes are a natural extension of the people who live there, reflecting our everyday lives and offering a calm and familiar retreat from the busyness of the outside world. Here are two of our favourite styling tips to make your house a warm and inviting haven that you’ll look forward to returning to.
Interior & Decoration: @arentpykestudio I Styling: @claredelmar I Photography: @smartanson. Featured: Flocca Linen Pillowcase in Russo
Create a vignette
Spaces in your home that are transition points between living zones, such as a hallway, stair landing or alcove, can be elevated with a simple vignette. In interior design, a vignette refers to a grouping of ornamental objects brought together to make a beautiful personal statement. This might be a collection of picture frames, ceramics and candles on a mantlepiece, or it could be designed on a slightly larger scale with an arrangement of textiles, furniture and decor that gives depth and interest to the corner of a room. In essence, a vignette can be thought of as a clustering of your favourite things to create a little ‘scene’.
@nickeykehoe
While many vignettes may look thrown together, there are a few important elements that can help them to appear beautifully balanced. These include:
Starting with a key furniture piece such as an armchair or console and building out smaller items around it
Bringing in a grounding textural element, for example, a rug under the armchair, a gentle complementary wallpaper (this is best applied in an alcove where the wallpaper is boxed into one area) or a grasscloth console. Curtains or drapes also help to soften edges, framing your vignette and drawing the eye up
Introducing wall art or a mirror to balance the hierarchy of the space
Setting the tone with ambient lighting, whether it be a table lamp, floor lamp or an appropriately positioned pendant lamp or sconce.Double Crush Throw in ArmeeIncorporate soft furnishings
One of the most important elements to creating a cosy home is soft furnishings, which can be introduced through scatter cushions, throws and blankets in an interesting combination of fabric materials. Not only do they look wonderfully inviting, but they also serve a practical purpose by adding warmth and comfort.
Decide whether you wish to include a pattern in your scheme, for example, a plaid cushion, and balance its presence with a plain cushion in a complementary hue that also complements the furniture it's placed on. Also, consider the fabric – tight weave linen used in bedlinen, cushions or on a couch can be enhanced when layered with a more textural element such as a loose weave linen throw, a highly textural fabric or finish such as velvet, wool boucle or alpaca, or with knit or pattern weaves.

Raw and Refined
The key to creating beautiful, calming spaces is finding the right balance of textural elements, and thoughtfully layering textiles and furnishings to soften an otherwise minimalist look. Keeping to a tonal palette and favouring natural materials such as concrete, timber, clay, render and brick – which all work wonderfully on both the exterior and interior – offers simplicity and cohesion while being warm and inviting.
The considered juxtaposition of materials is a feature throughout this stunning Noosa residence by CLO Studios, whose brief was to create relaxing and serene spaces that were a continuation of the outside. This was achieved by referencing the beachside home’s surrounding landscape as well as its deep-grey concrete exterior when designing the interior scheme.

Outside, earthy tones and a dark canvas help to harmoniously blend the building into its natural surrounds, with walls of vertical, timber-stained slats effectively softening what could otherwise be a brutalist concrete facade. Clean lines and a moody palette ensure the home retains a modern sophistication while being relaxed and comfortable within its setting.

A focus on texture carries through to the interior, with layered materials creating visual differences while colour change is minimal. Seagrass rugs, linen furnishings and timber accents bring softness and warmth to the open-plan layout, and in the bedroom, HMCo pure linen bedding has been carefully chosen to echo the outdoors. Our Flocca Linen Duvet Cover in our muted black melange hue Nox is layered over light, sandy Sable sheets and pillowcases with the soft, silvery sage of Argent gently reflecting the green of the pandanus trees.

In Victoria’s Red Hill, a series of contemporary cottages designed by Melbourne-based practice Clare Cousins Architects fuse raw and refined elements to achieve a warm minimalism that is also heavily influenced by the surrounding landscape. Timber joinery and concrete floors offer a simple, minimal backdrop for brushed brass tapware and sensory-rich textiles, with tonal layers and calm, uncluttered spaces allowing the materials to be the primary focus.

In the master bedroom, concrete and timber are softened with HMCo pure linen sheets in antique white Ayrton, with pillows in deep khaki Armee reflecting the outdoor palette while our Basix Linen Coverlet in light grey Gris lends a luxurious final layer. In the bathroom, our pure linen towels in mid-charcoal Tempest prove an ideal fit for a raw and refined aesthetic, lending a soft, tactile element to the minimal concrete vanity. As seen throughout the home, a cooler palette can help to balance wall timbers and warm, natural accents.

Focus on Green
Colour not only has the ability to transform the look and feel of a room, but it can also have a profound effect on our mood and experience within a space. The colour green is well known for its calming properties, believed to soothe and comfort due to being a biophilic hue. After blue, green is the second most prevalent colour found in the natural world, and it’s a colour we associate with fields, forests and fertile landscapes. Green is also the colour of healing, growth and renewal.
Our signature range of hues features four exclusive shades of green, all taking inspiration from nature to offer an earthy, adaptable palette that layers effortlessly with both neutrals and rich tones. At the softer end of the spectrum, Argent is a silvery sage reminiscent of the lovable Lamb’s-ear perennial. This gentle hue pairs beautifully with oceanic Mare and the muted black melange of Nox, as well as imbuing subtle colour when layered with light and airy staples Petra and Sable.

Refresh, Renew
Your bedroom is the place you go to relax and retreat, a soothing sanctuary conducive to a restful night’s sleep. Choosing pure linen bedding for its natural, breathable and sustainable properties is a great start, however, there are also other ways we can rejuvenate our bedroom to create a space that not only looks beautiful but is also good for our mood, health, and wellbeing.
Featuring: Flocca Linen Duvet in Argent, Crush Linen Throw in Argent, Sheets, and Curtain in Sable.
Declutter
Keep only the bare essentials next to your bed, removing things like magazines and books, hand creams and cosmetics, and storing them out of sight. Technology can have a negative impact on sleep, so be sure to put your phone, iPad and other electronics into a drawer or ideally another room. Keeping your space uncluttered also makes cleaning and dusting much easier.
Interior Design by Amber Interiors | Photo @shadedeggesphotography | Featuring Flocca Linen Blanket in Tempest.
Style your bedside table
A simple, hierarchical formula made up of three elements is all you need for an appealing nightstand. Assuming your bedside lamp is the tallest element, the secondary element should be around half the size of the lamp and positioned in front, slightly to one side. The smallest element can be at the very front, slightly overlapping the middle element. Play with shape and texture – a tall, skinny lamp juxtaposed with wider pieces such as a square picture frame and a round bowl or vase, for example. No lamp? Use a vase, a stack of books and a small tray to create tall, wide and small elements.
Shop for a new pillow
Just like bed linen, natural is best when it comes to pillows, so look for cotton, bamboo, wool, or natural latex, as well as feather and down pillows purchased from a reputable supplier. Washing pillows occasionally as per the instructions will help to minimise the build-up of allergens such as dust mites, and be sure to replace them by the date advised on the tag.
Give your duvet insert some time in the sun
As feather and down duvets can’t really be washed, make the most of a clear, sunny day by hanging them out in the fresh air to help kill any nasties. While you’re at it, give your pillows some time outside and wash your mattress protector for a fresh, clean foundation that’s ready to be layered and styled with your pure linen bedding.
By @seanandersondesign | Photoraphy @haris.kenjar
Choose calming colours
These might not always be the most obvious choices such as blues, greens and whites. Moody charcoal and darker hues such as Nox and Tempest can be equally calming and allow the eyes to rest, while muted shades of terracotta and our dusty clay Rosa hue can transport you elsewhere. Try incorporating these, along with classic calming hues such as Argent, Fog and Mare, into your bedding scheme.
