Harbour Views

There is something quintessentially Australian about the sparkling, azure waters of Sydney Harbour, luxuriously laidback and inviting no matter the season. The relaxed elegance of this iconic waterfront offers dreamy summer inspiration for our latest pure linen look, Harbour Views, a coastal-inspired bedscape that captures the essence of this stunning vista with a soothing, tonal palette.

From our signature range of muted hues, Fog, a pale grey with a subtle blue undertone, harmoniously complements our coveted Roy colourway, a dusty, washed cornflower blue reminiscent of clear, bright skies and the welcoming inlets dotted around the harbor. The pale stone of Petra references white accents – private docks, lavish yachts and smooth Opera House sails – visible on the shoreline.

The stunning Oak House residence by Alexander & CO is a timeless example of how creating a connection between indoor and outdoor living on the water’s edge can be beautifully achieved with light-filled spaces, natural materials and soothing tones – from moody blue armchairs to sandy-hued curtains – reflective of the home’s setting overlooking Sydney Harbour.

The hallmarks of an Australian summer on the harbor can be seen in the work of renowned Australian artist Brett Whitely, whose evocative abstract paintings feature vivid ultramarine blue flecked with white. His 1975 painting, The balcony 2, depicts the natural beauty of Sydney Harbour, while The jacaranda tree on Sydney Harbour (1977) displays the same dazzling blue water and deep, cooling qualities.

For this look, we brought the serene hues of the harbor into the bedroom to inspire a sleep haven that evokes leisurely days by the water. Reflective of the ocean’s gently rippling surface, its warm shimmer interrupted only by the occasional white puff of cloud passing by the sun, our soft and breathable pure linen bedding, blankets and cushions create a space of quiet luxury, offering the same sense of calm and wellbeing that one might experience on a tranquil afternoon spent gazing out to the horizon.
