Steeped in history and romance, this beautifully revitalised 1847-built home seamlessly blends Georgian elegance with modern comforts within its leafy Launceston setting.

Reimagined by interior stylist Belle Hemming Bright from Belle Bright Project as part of a two-year renovation, the heritage-listed property offers a private retreat for a Sydney family with ties to Tasmania as well as idyllic accommodation for guests.

Inspired by nature and the building’s history, this elegant makeover is both luxurious and sentimental, with family heirlooms layered throughout the home’s living spaces. A spacious, sun-drenched lounge area features gold accents and greenery from the garden, with cosy seating where the family can gather around the fireplace. Overlooking the room is a stunning 19th-century gilt bronze chandelier and a French antique mirror, offset by a neutral palette of white and grey, which allows the space to feel light and airy.

The bedrooms' wallpapers are sympathetic to what was used initially and revealed after 10-20 layers of paint and wallpaper were peeled away. The new floral designs are also inspired by the property’s sprawling mature gardens, which feature hydrangeas, camellias, and smokebush. Vintage artwork and antique pieces honour the building’s history, featuring original Georgian elements such as the 200-year-old original floorboards. Our bestselling Flocca Linen Blanket in Bere layers effortlessly into the timeless, earthy palette while adding rich warmth and texture.

Three lavish bathrooms feature freestanding bathtubs, with tonal shades of green reflecting the abundant garden and lush landscape surrounding the property. In the richly coloured green bathroom, these calming hues create an immersive sanctuary for quiet moments spent indulging in a luxurious soak. Touches of gold and brass complement delicately patterned wallpaper and subdued artwork, creating a look that is both classic and contemporary.
